The history of Marmaris began when the Carians arrived in this area in 3400 BC. Carians are the ancestors of the people of Marmaris and also play a big part of their cultural heritage. The Carians are very well known throughout history: just as the Caria Restaurant today. The Caria restaurant is a very well known and respected restaurant.

Mr Ali started his first business as a cafe on the ground level of his home in 1993. A year later he expanded it to become a full restaurant. Since that time his customers has been increasing year by year. Many locals and ex-pats wait for the arrival of spring when Ali will re-open Caria. And not forgetting, of course, the clients from all over the world who have become regular clients when in Marmaris on holiday. Caria is open only during the summer season from May to the beginning of November.

The Caria restaurant is on the harbour front near the Netsel Marina bridge opposite of the of which are the many gulets and private yachts awaiting the arrival of charter guests:

Caria's food is as good as it's reputation which is well known and appreciated. What ever you order from the menu it will be pleasant experience for your taste buds. The menu is full of many different kind of both Turkish and international dishes. Menu includes tasty steaks, pastas and salads for example. Try the house special Wok Caria or Jambalaya. Dessert menu includes many tasty and sweet dishes such as fruits, ice cream or nut-chocolate mousse....hmm.

The service is excellent and you can eat and enjoy your meal in pleasant peaceful surrounding. You get service when you need it but the waiters will not hang around for no reason. You can be served with any of the many languages spoken by the staff including Turkish, English, Swedish and Russian.

If you want to enjoy excellent food in nice and peaceful surrounding, come to The Caria Restaurant - you won't be sorry!
